Expanding the Power Outages Map: Now Covering VECO Service Areas
Power interruptions aren’t just a Metro Manila issue - they're a shared experience for communities across the country. From sudden brownouts to scheduled maintenance, understanding when and where these happen helps everyone prepare better.
We’re excited to announce that the Power Outages Map now includes data from the Visayan Electric Company (VECO) — expanding coverage to one of the largest electricity distributors in the Visayas region.
This integration brings us one step closer to a truly nationwide picture of power reliability across the Philippines.

More Coverage, Deeper Insights
With VECO data now live on the Power Outages Map, residents and organizations in Cebu City, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay, and neighboring municipalities can now see outage patterns in their own areas.
The map provides the same powerful insights as before — showing:
- The number of recorded power interruptions per city or municipality
- When and where outages occur most frequently
- Safety reminders and quick tips for managing power loss
By combining MERALCO and VECO data, users can now compare trends between Luzon and Visayas — helping uncover regional differences in outage frequency, reliability, and system performance.
Built on the Lupain.AI Map Engine
The Power Outages Map continues to run on the Lupain.AI Map Engine, enabling seamless updates and flexible data visualization.
Teams can upload new datasets, update existing ones, and publish refreshed versions of the map instantly — all from a browser, without technical setup.
Each region is color-coded based on outage frequency, allowing anyone — from local governments to ordinary citizens — to understand power trends at a glance.
Every data point tells a story, and with VECO now integrated, that story reaches more communities than ever.
Smarter, More Connected Data
As outage reports are updated, information cards on the map automatically refresh to reflect the most recent data.
These cards are fully customizable — so users can highlight key details that matter most to them, such as outage duration, date, or area-specific advisories.
This makes the map not just informative, but actionable — empowering people to make better decisions, plan ahead, and stay safe during interruptions.
Looking Ahead
We’re already working on integrating additional distributors across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, aiming for a nationwide outage map that reflects the true state of power reliability across the Philippines.
As we expand, we’ll continue improving accuracy, frequency of updates, and the user experience — ensuring that the Power Outages Map remains a trusted source for open, transparent power data.
