How we built Earthquake Map for the Philippines

In the past few days, several earthquakes have been felt across the Philippines. Moments like these remind us how important it is to have quick and clear information - so people know what’s happening and where.

Making Maps Fast

We designed Lupain.AI so maps can be built in just a few minutes. Our system connects directly to USGS, the United States agency that tracks earthquakes around the world.

As soon as an earthquake is recorded, the data is pulled into our system and shown on a map of the Philippines - no manual steps needed.

Clear Information Cards

At the core of our system is a templating engine — this is what makes our information cards so flexible.

Each map includes a card that explains what happened: the magnitude, location, and how strong the shaking was. But because it’s powered by templates, researchers can change how the information is shown — adding or removing details, charts, or explanations depending on what they need to highlight.

This allows the same map data to serve different goals: from simple community updates to detailed scientific presentations.

One-Click Publishing

After setting up the map and its details, it only takes one click to publish it. This makes it easy for anyone — even without technical skills — to share the map online.
